Rock Permeability

The instrument meets the essential requirements laid down in IS:4348-1973.

It is single panel unit on which are mounted a set of valves, pressure gauge, pressure regulator, brass water reservoir, graduated glass tube etc.

The outlet of the reservoir is connected to the top of the permeability cell. It is made out of non-corrosive material or MS chemically coated for rust protection.

Air-vent valve is provided on the top plate, while at the bottom a funnel is fixed through which passes the percolated water to the measuring bottle.
Cell can accommodate 100 mm dia x 100 mm high specimen.

The unit comprises of a base frame on which the frame assembly with the integral jack and two load gauges with isolating valves are fixed. The ram of the jack carries the lower cone while the upper cross head has the other loading cone. The cones are made as per IS 8764. Spacer blocks are provided to test samples ranging from EX size to 100 mm size. Maximum clearance between the two cones is approx 125 mm. Lower range gauge of 25 kN is provided for better sensitivity and 100 kN gauge reaches upto the maximum capacity.

Assisted by a qualified workforce and advanced manufacturing unit, we are engaged in offering a wide range of Accelerated Polishing Machine. This machine has two speed constant mesh gear box driven by an electric motor fully enclosed within the transmission case. The low speed drive automatically comes into action when either the high or intermediate speed is disengaged on light loads, speed changes may be made without switching off. A gear train to provided smooth gear changes and also protects the transmission mechanism. Ball bearings are used throughout which, together with all gears, run in a special lubricant requiring no attention for several years.
